Our future directions and the improvements we intend to achieve in each Key Area


Key Area 1 Catholic Life and Religious Education


Our Vision: By the end of 2015 St Joseph’s will be a community where we actively live, celebrate and integrate our Catholic faith as we respond to the changing face of the world community.

Our Key Improvements
Strategies exist to ensure the schools’ Vision and Mission is clearly understood, articulated and demonstrated by members of the school community.

Key Area 2 Students and their Learning


Our Vision: By the end of 2015 St Joseph’s will be a community where a positive and informed learning environment will exist which promotes the development of the whole person.

Our Key Improvements

  • A safe and supportive environment is promoted and sustained through the effective implementation of Restorative Practices where the dignity and worth of each person is valued.
  • Highly effective school-based policies and practices facilitate and reflect innovative, ethical and flexible approaches to the use of ICT, which maximises student engagement in learning.

Key Area 3 Pedagogy


Our Vision: By the end of 2015 St Joseph’s will be a community where there is a contemporary, whole school approach that enables quality teaching and learning.

Our Key Improvements

  • Strategies exist which promote a whole-school approach that addresses the diverse learning needs of students and supports the successful transition of students throughout the learning continuum.
  • Effective procedures and practices exist for program development, implementation and review with regular constructive feedback.


Key Area 6 Parents, Partnership, Consultation and Communication


Our Vision: By the end of 2015 St Joseph’s will be a community where parents and the wider community are engaged and valued as partners in student learning

Our Key Improvements

  • A range of well presented, highly effective communication structures and processes exist, displaying aspects of school life.


Key Area 8 Information and Communication Technology (ICT)


Our Vision: By the end of 2015 St Joseph’s will be a community that articulates a shared vision for ICT which enhances teaching, learning and administration.

Our Key Improvements

  • Students demonstrate an understanding of themselves as global citizens, showing respect for others which is grounded in the ethics and values of the Catholic faith.
